Linux folder icons
Create folder icons for KDE and GNOME
Start with the familiar KDE Breeze or GNOME Adwaita folder shape, then recolor it and add a symbol, image, or short text label. You can also bring your own base folder artwork.

Choose a Linux folder style
KDE Breeze
Use the official Breeze folder artwork as the base for KDE Plasma and related setups.
GNOME Adwaita
Use the official Adwaita folder artwork as the base for GNOME-style desktops.
Upload your own base folder
Select Upload base icon in the Folder Style panel to use a PNG, WebP, SVG, or JPEG from another icon theme. The image is read locally by your browser and is not sent to an account or remote image workspace.
Customize and export
- Adjust hue and brightness to fit your desktop theme.
- Add a built-in symbol, paste an SVG, or drag an image onto the preview.
- Add a short text label if the icon needs a project or category marker.
- Download a transparent PNG at 128, 256, or 512 pixels.
Desktop compatibility: the method for assigning a custom folder image varies across distributions, file managers, and icon themes. Keep the 512×512 PNG as your reusable source.
